1. Introduction

Welcome to Billremit ("Billremit", "we", "our", or "us").

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Billremit mobile application, website, and related services.

By creating an account, accessing, or using Billremit, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the Billremit platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Billremit.

By registering for an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet the eligibility requirements for using our services.

  • Electricity bill payments;
  • Cable TV subscriptions;
  • Educational and examination PINs, including WAEC, NECO, and JAMB;
  • Wallet services;
  • Referral rewards; and
  • Other digital services that may be introduced from time to time.

The availability of particular services may vary depending on location, service providers, network availability, and other circumstances.

4. User Account

To use certain Billremit services, you must create an account and provide accurate and complete information.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate registration information;
  • Keeping your account credentials, PIN, and authentication information confidential;
  • Taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access to your account; and
  • All transactions and activities carried out through your account, except where unauthorized activity is reported and confirmed in accordance with our procedures.

You must notify Billremit promptly if you suspect that your account has been compromised or accessed without authorization.

5. Wallet and Wallet Funding

Billremit provides users with a digital wallet that may be used to pay for supported services on the platform.

Upon successful registration, a user may be assigned a dedicated virtual bank account for the purpose of funding their Billremit wallet.

Wallet Funding by Bank Transfer

Wallet funding is currently available through bank transfer to the dedicated virtual account assigned to the user.

The dedicated virtual account is associated with the user's Billremit account and is intended to allow the user to transfer funds into their Billremit wallet.

Wallet balances are credited after the relevant payment or banking partner confirms receipt of the transfer.

Billremit may delay, hold, investigate, reverse, or restrict a wallet credit where there is a suspected technical issue, unauthorized transaction, fraud, compliance concern, or other legitimate reason.

Users should ensure that transfers are made to the correct dedicated virtual account details displayed in their Billremit account.

6. Transactions and Payments

Before completing a transaction, users are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied is correct.

This may include:

  • Phone numbers;
  • Data plans;
  • Meter numbers;
  • Electricity account details;
  • Cable TV smart-card or decoder numbers;
  • Examination details; and
  • Other information required to complete a transaction.

Billremit is not responsible for losses resulting from incorrect information supplied or confirmed by a user.

7. Transaction Processing

Billremit aims to process transactions promptly. However, transactions may sometimes be delayed, pending, unsuccessful, or temporarily unavailable due to circumstances including:

  • Network interruptions;
  • Banking system issues;
  • Service-provider downtime;
  • Payment processor issues;
  • Technical maintenance;
  • System errors; or
  • Other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where a transaction fails and the funds are successfully returned to Billremit, the applicable amount may be refunded or reversed to the user's wallet in accordance with our transaction procedures.

8. Refunds and Reversals

A transaction may qualify for a refund or reversal where it has failed and the funds have been successfully recovered by Billremit or the relevant service provider.

Successful transactions are generally not refundable where the requested service has already been delivered.

Where a user provides incorrect transaction information, Billremit may be unable to reverse or recover the transaction.

Refunds and reversals may also be subject to the policies and procedures of the relevant service provider or payment partner.
